'Flop Raja' Raviteja in Red zone
Mass Maharaja Raviteja is facing the biggest slump in his career after he tasted success as a solo hero. His last hit was Mirapakay and after that Raviteja starred in as many as five films. All these films were duds and some are extremely horrible. It all started with RGV's Dongala Mutha, which was a huge flop. Raviteja did it for minimal salary to encourage an experiment.
That film took away the luck from Raviteja and he has been struggling from then onwards. Veera and Nippu were very bad films and perhaps Nippu was the biggest disaster in Raviteja's career. Daruvu too failed to put him back on track. Daruvu was too loud for Telugu sensibilities. At this critical juncture Devudu Chesina Manushulu arrived.
This film is being out rightly rejected by diehard fans of Raviteja too. DCM increased the woes of Ravitjeja and he is surely in the danger zone now. Only a solid hit can end his miseries and Sir Vacharu is his next release. Audiences are already losing interest in monotonous Raviteja and a series of disasters is only piling up pressure on him. Let's see if he has a solution to break this jinx.

Synopsis:
Vishnu Murthy (Brahmanandham) tells a love story of two orphans to Lakshmi Devi on Akshaya Thruthiya day. Ravi Teja (Ravi Teja) is a settlement broker in Hyderabad while Ileana (Ileana) is a taxi driver in Bangkok. Both of them are orphans and they share common likes. Because of an arati thokka (Banana peel) thrown by Papayya (M.S.Narayana) on the road, the story takes a certain direction and Ravi Teja heads to Bangkok to negotiate a settlement between Circle Inspector Subba Raju (Subba Raju) and Bangkok Don Prakash Raj (Prakash Raj). He meets with Ileana in this process and falls in love with her. Rest of the story is about the game Vishnu and Lakshmi plays with Ravi Teja, Ileana and Prakash Raj.
Performances:
Ravi Teja is at his usual energetic self. He brings fabulous energy and entertainment with his interpretation of character. And we never get tired of his kind of comedy.
Ileana has lost herself in recent times. Somehow, the charm and beauty on her face is lost and her body looks too pale on the screen. The romantic track between Ravi Teja and Ileana never really takes off and the viewers will find it hard to connect with their feelings.
Though Prakash Raj was the main villain of the film, Puri uses him for comedy purposes in the role of a mafia don who forgets every thing in regular intervals. Jyothi Rana looks sufficiently vampish. Ali brings a few laughs as Bangkok taxi driver Goli. Brahmanandham and Kovai Sarla are good in their roles. Subba Raju did well in the little role he is offered. M.S.Narayana is seen in a very brief cameo. Fish Venkat is routine.
Technical Performances:
Puri Jagan said something interesting in the audio function of the film. “I made the film without a story”. He was telling the truth. This movie does not have a story but he entertained the audience through out the run time of the movie. The songs tend to come in at abrupt intervals and spoil whatever flow is there in the narrative. This is especially more evident in the second half, where screenplay is quite bad. He made good decision in restricting the run time of the movie to 2 hours otherwise it would have become difficult to entertain audience. Dialogues written by Puri are awesome as ever. Characterizations and Certain dialogues were too good. There were certain moments in the second half like the Anna Chellemma track between Prakash Raj and Ileana bored a bit but is manageable.
Raghu Kunche's music is average and picturisation of songs is okay. Cinematography and Editing is good.
Positives:
1. Energetic performance by Ravi Teja
2. Superb dialogues penned by Puri
3. Good Entertainment
4. Good Run Time
Negatives:
1. No novelty in story
2. Ugly Ileana
3. Offers nothing for serious movie lovers
Final Say:
Devudu Chesina Manushulu might be the only movie in recent times which released with such low expectations in recent times. Expectations are almost zeroed due to several postponements. This might help the movie at box office. Watch it if you have nothing to do!
Mass Raja's mysterious Miseries
Mass Raja Raviteja till couple of years back used to rule the root on tollywood silver screen and there was time when even Natasimha Balakrishna used to think twice before releasing his film in competition with him. He even scored a decent hit in 'Mirapakaya' and won the praises of movie analysts for his courage and guts to give Harish Shankar second chance after his disastrous debut film Shock. Harish went on to become star director later with Power Star's 'Gabbar Singh'. However Mass Raja's stars deserted him as he tasted two flops with his friend Ram Gopal Varma's two films KSD Appalaraju and Dongala Mutha. Though he played cameo in one film it affected his image. This reflected in Veera, Nippu and Daruvu.
When everyone expected him to show his guts, his film makers started postponing their releases many times this year denting Raviteja's image. When the films were released finally they lost their steam and disappeared without even making any noises. The scripts and storylines of all these duds were routine and people became monotonous watching Mass Raja breathing same fire and dialogues coupled with stale comedy. Many feel that Mass Raja's miseries are due to film makers who are taking him for a ride. Ravi Teja who is good at heart is unable to refuse and for the sake of friendship signing films which other stars wouldn't have done so. In the process he is putting his stardom at stake. Hope Raviteja take quick corrective measures before it is too late.
Censor Board cuts down Puri's bhoothulu
It is known to our readers that Ravi Teja starrer Devudu Chesina Manushulu had completed its censor formalities last week and the movie was awarded with U/A certificate. With this the movie is all set to release on August 15th. Here is the complete details of the cuts suggested by the board
1. Deleted the thigh exposure of heroine in the introduction shot
2. Deleted dialogues like Kosi, bum bum, neeyebba, neeyemma, dongamunda, sankanaki, pakkane padukobetti etc
3. Displayed the warnings during the duration of smoking
Mass Raja losing his Magic
Mass Raja Ravi Teja became the darling of masses with his energetic performances fully loaded with spontaneous mass dialogues, unique mannerisms and breathtaking dances. This got him immense popularity and masses crowned him as Mass Maharaja. However movie lovers and film critics wonder whether Mass Raja is losing his magic. They cite the examples of Veera,Nippu, Daruvu along with special roles in Dongala Mutha and KSD Appalaraju. Even his die hard fans can't deny that after Mirapakaya he did not have decent hit. His fans wonder what happened to their hero who once won bitter battles with Natasimha Balakrishna.
However most recently many noticed fear in Mass Raja clearly cast on his face. He postponed his recent films Nippu, Daruvu many times and even Devudu Chesina Manushulu which is never heard of in the industry. Movie lovers feel that his last three films bombed at the box office due to his monotonous and routine mannerisms. Even many feel age is catching him up which is visible with the wrinkles on his face. This is also turning out to be his minus as many hot heroines are shying away from singing films with him though he has loads of energy.
Unless until he finds out new ways and re package himself his mass magic will fast wane out. Raviteja hopes that Puri Jagannath's directed Devudu Chesina Manushulu will recreate the magic of 'Idiot' bringing back golden days to him.
RaviTeja's Dialogues Not So Exciting!
Almost all the film makers who are in the race of August are coming up with different promotion strategies to lock audiences. But some big films are failing to get attention and Raviteja's movie is one among them.
Raviteja is coming up with 'Devudu Chesina Manushulu' that was crafted by maverick director Puri Jagan. The latest dialogue teaser released as a part of this show is not so hair rising and exciting like Puri's previous attempts.
'Naakantey goppa vaadini choosi vuntaav.. naakantey edavani choosuntaav.. naalontaadni nenu okkadiney', says Raviteja in the film. This is reminding of Ravi's 'Anjaneyulu' dialogue, 'Naalontodini choodam veru, nannu chooddam veru'. Fans are saying that versatility and punch is missing from Puri's work this time.
Many times dialogues will get popularized when we hear them in theatre in an emotional feel. Listening to them partly in teasers may not give complete kick. Let us wait for movie release before coming to conclusions.
